Oracle DBA – 2 open positions

Candidate must go to a face to face
Required Skills:
- Recent/current experience in the investment/financial sector
- 7 + years experience in a mission critical production database environment.
- Candidates expected to speak English very well
- Oracle Database Administration experience with VLDB, Oracle 9i, 10g, 11 including Oracle RAC 10 and 11, Oracle Clusterware, ASM, Dataguard, Streams, Partitioning, DataWarehousing, Grid Control-OEM, RMAN.
- Oracle Development Experience, strong SQL, PL/SQL skills
- Strong Unix/Linux experience, Programming & Shell/Perl scripting skills.
- Strong Oracle database and query optimization and recovery skills.
- Practical experience in managing database security.

Description:
Oracle DBA working in a team of Database Administrators with a range of technical skills. Provide planning, implementation and operational support for Oracle database applications supporting Foreign Exchange, Securities Lending and Corporate Systems. Position is based in Boston and works with other teams across the globe. Must be a team player. Ability to manage own tasks and priorities and assist more junior members in prioritization.
Responsibilities • Provide Oracle DBMS and PLSQL expertise to development teams. • Provides beeper support on a 24x7 basis. • Provide support for weekend releases and maintenance windows. • Responsible for performance tuning, backups, database enhancements, installations and upgrades, technical initiatives. • Work with on and offshore support teams to accomplish technical efforts in support of the business needs. • Implements and reinforces corporate data security and confidentiality policies on DBMS • Acts as a liaison with business technology teams. • Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service. • Coordinate and work with infrastructure teams for change control and deployment. • Provide Oracle Database and query optimization and recovery. • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues. • Plan, deploy and administer disaster recovery infrastructure. • Work closely with infrastructure teams on capacity planning and tuning. | |
