SENIOR/LEAD PHP DEVELOPER

Duration: 12 months

Location: Atlanta, GA

Rate: Open all inclusive

 

This position requires a true professional and an effective communicator as there will be regular phone, e-mail and face-to-face contact with clients, client teams as well as internal staff and project teams which may include the gathering of information to produce and deliver estimates, proposals and/or formal presentations.

• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to handle diverse situations, multiple projects and rapidly changing priorities
• Experience in designing an application and seeing it through to completion, including requirements gathering, architecture, implementation and deployment 
• Experience with relational database design concepts and best practices.
• Experience interfacing with product/project managers or business development resources to jointly develop technical requirements
• Ability to communicate software concepts in detailed design documentation
• Ability to communicate with clients at all levels 
• Ability to assess a business need or problem and come up with the best solution, often in the absence of specific technical requirements
• Experience as a development lead on complex projects, mentoring junior developers. Experience with leading offshore teams is a definite plus.

 

Technical Requirements:

 

• PHP 5.3 – Zend Framework 1, Doctrine 1.2 PHP ORM
• Linux experience (RHEL 6.1) – managing of cron jobs, bash scripting, general understanding of the filesystem
• MySQL with replication
• Apache Web Server administration
• Sphinx Search Server understanding
• Facebook API development
• Experience working with Drupal, Joomla and/or other PHP based Content Management Systems
• Clean hand coded HTML, object oriented JavaScript including jQuery, jQueryUI and AJAX, well-structured CSS (2&3)
• Understanding of how to design a strong data architecture and how to map the user's business needs to the design
• Ability and desire to learn and adopt new technologies quickly and evangelize to the team, the company and the community
• Understanding of Object Oriented Analysis & Design, Multi Layer Architecture and Patterns
• Strong experience with Source Control tools specifically Subversion
• Solid understanding of and experience developing and consuming web services – RESTful and/or SOAP | 3rd party API integration including JSON and XML exchange
